Ark Investment CEO/CIO Cathie Wood to Headline Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit

Cathie Wood will be featured in the closing keynote next month at the two-day Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit.  The Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of ARK Investment Management LLC (“ARK” or “ARK Invest”) will speak on November 5th at Amalie Arena, site of the State of Florida’s first FinTech conference focused on bitcoin and blockchain technologies.

A global asset manager specializing in thematic investing in disruptive innovation, ARK has been recognized by the likes of Bloomberg, Fortune, and Barron’s as an influential thought leader on investing in innovation.  The company is moving its headquarters from New York to St. Petersburg just days before the event at Amalie Arena begins.  Wood will close the event in two-and-a-half weeks in a fireside chat format alongside Embarc Collective CEO Lakshmi Shenoy and ARK Cryptoasset Analyst Yassine Elmandjra.

“People have been saying for years that Tampa is the next big city,” said Chris Krimitsos of Cutting Edge Events, which is organizing the Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit (FBBS).  “But now, with Cathie Wood moving ARK to this area and this event coming together with all the stakeholders from all over the state, we believe this is solidifying the moment that Tampa is growing into the potential we always knew it had.  Thanks to leaders like Jeff Vinik who have literally rebuilt this city to be a leader in the 21st century, Tampa has officially arrived on the global scene.”

The announcement of Wood coming on for the closing keynote for the FBBS follows last week’s news that Tampa Mayor Jane Castor will deliver the event’s welcome address.  That statement also included support for the event voiced by Tampa City Councilman Guido Maniscalco, Atlanta-based Blockchain Chamber of Commerce CEO Rayshoun Chambers, and Embarc Collective’s Shenoy.  In addition, modern news platform The St. Pete Catalyst has also given their support to the FBBS.

The Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit will utilize the Firestick Grill and Chase Lounge at Amalie Arena, home of the National Hockey League’s back-to-back defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning.  Aimed at bringing together stakeholders, businesses, and political leaders from all over Florida as well as outside of the State to collaborate on a strategy that will drive growth inside and outside the Sunshine State, the event will feature a Beginner track, Investment track, Real Estate track, Developer track, and Blockchain track.
