At FinovateSpring 2019, You May Hear Talk of Lemonade, Raisin and Kabbage

Don’t be astonished if you hear patrons of the upcoming Finovate confab in San Francisco talking about Lemonade, Raisin and Kabbage, for this unlikely menu of items is about innovation in financial services, not cuisine.

Expect such surprises and more at FinovateSpring 2019, as the next fintech forum in the Finovate series gets underway at the Hilton San Francisco in Union Square (https://bit.ly/2OW4yGG). Main conference days are Wednesday, May 8, through Friday, May 10, with an additional summit day on Tuesday, May 7. By providing its unique platform of short-form demos and presentations from industry professionals, Finovate has been showcasing the latest in banking and financial technology since 2007.

FinovateSpring 2019 will be no different, offering a tally of 120+ thought-leaders and techies that includes executives and alumni of BNY Mellon, HSBC, RBC, Prudential, Square, Twitter and Uber. The over 1,300 expected attendees will also be treated to exhibits and demos from some 60 fintech outfits eager to recreate the financial services universe in much the same way that Lemonade, Raisin and Kabbage have done. Lemonade, launched in 2016, is an online provider of insurance products, the valuation of which soared past $2 billion after recent funding led by SoftBank, according to Forbes. The European-based Raisin hosts an online marketplace for savings products. The fintech firm recently announced an agreement with ClearScore, which offers free credit checking services, through which ClearScore customers can access savings products with partner banks through the Raisin UK marketplace. Kabbage, established in 2009, provides commercial loans and other forms of credit to small businesses.

To better align the interests of attendees of FinovateSpring 2019, events will be structured into four conference streams. Each stream will focus on digital solutions under development for the banking, payments, community banking and lending sectors. The extra day added this year – Tuesday, May 7 – will be devoted to artificial intelligence and customer experience forums, which will run concurrently. So, if you want to see how digital technology is circumventing or mitigating frictions in the financial services market, book your ticket to FinovateSpring 2019.
