Only about two weeks are left before a one-of-a-kind event for the fintech world takes place in the rising global gateway city that Miami, Florida, has become, as it links Latin America and Europe through a United States economic and financial hub. The first annual Blockchain Shift conference is a place for entrepreneurs and investors to network and become better educated about the transformational vitality of open-source ledger technology as it is applied to an expanding variety of industries, and the event’s pitch contest now has the potential to drop a few G’s in a winning company’s wallet.
Participating companies will have the opportunity to pitch their business or an innovative idea to a panel of 20 judges who will vote on each pitch’s merits. The top three vote-getters will appear before the entire audience in the main hall to vie for the crowd’s favor and the grand prize — $210,000, which includes $10,000 in cash and $200,000 in services, including an exhibition booth, a VIP ticket, one general admission ticket, a video for social media and one hour of no-cost legal consultation.
The contest takes place on the conference’s opening day, October 11, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and costs $10,000 to participate.
Over the course of the two-day event at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center, attendees will have access to food and beverages, business exhibits, topical forums and panel discussions, art viewings and a pair of after-parties, including the final Ibiza nightclub-style get-together. Speakers include an array of experienced thought leaders, service providers and government officials.
Blockchain Shift organizers are expecting 3,000 attendees, as well as 500 investors and 160 speakers at the event.
